the SCRIPT

               The Matriarch drapes a black velvet robe with a silk lining
               over Trisha's shoulders.

                                   THE MATRIARCH
                         Trisha, close your eyes. Imagine
                         yourself innocent as a newborn
                         baby. (beat) This robe symbolizes
                         the darkness surrounding you from
                         time to time. Feel the royal
                         lining, always protecting the child
                         inside.

               The Matriarch ties a silk rope around Trisha's waist.

                                   THE MATRIARCH (CONT'D)
                         The rope symbolizes the chains
                         which others try to bind you with.

               The Matriarch lights a white candle.

                                   THE MATRIARCH (CONT'D)
                         This is your spirit. Burning
                         brightly for all to see.

               The Matriarch hands a piece of paper to Trisha.

                                   THE MATRIARCH (CONT'D)
                         Here is the paper you wrote the
                         words 'ALL OBSTACLES' on.

               The Matriarch picks up the candle and the silver goblet.
               Holding them in front of Trisha.

                                   THE MATRIARCH (CONT'D)
                         This is the cup of life. With the
                         fire of your feminine spirit and
                         intuition, you destroy all the
                         obstacles in your life. Light the
                         paper with the flame and repeat
                         after me. 'I can overcome all
                         obstacles in my life'.

               Trisha lights the paper, dropping the burning paper into the
               cup.

                                   TRISHA
                         I can overcome all obstacles in my
                         life.

               The Matriarch sets down the candle and silver cup.

                                   THE MATRIARCH
                             (demonstrating)
                         Clasp the webbing between your left
                         thumb and index finger with your
                         opposite thumb and index finger.

               The Matriarch waits for Trisha to comply then picks up a vial
               of rose oil and holds it close to Trisha's nose.
                         Inhale slowly and repeat after me
                         (beat) 'with this sweet breath I
                         become the mother of everything
                         good in my life'.

                                   TRISHA
                             (inhaling)
                         With this sweet breath I become the
                         mother of everything good in my
                         life.

                                   THE MATRIARCH
                         As a Matriarch, do you promise to
                         love and nourish the garden of
                         goodness in your life? 

                                   TRISHA
                         I do!

                                   THE MATRIARCH
                         Now release yourself from the
                         chains which others try to bind you
                         with.

               Trisha undoes the rope and lets it fall to the ground.
               Afterwards, The Matriarch slowly removes the robe.

                                   THE MATRIARCH (CONT'D)
                         You are now free to live a life of
                         abundance.
